FAQ: You Asked, I Answered

Q: Why should you shop second hand and preloved?

A: By shopping preloved you’re extending the life cycle of thoughtfully sourced second-hand pieces, allowing them to be worn and loved again and again, keeping fashion circular!

Even if its not with us, we encourage everyone to shop second hand and contribute to the cycle.

Whether buying, wearing, reapiring, gifting, redistributing, reworking or reselling, we believe we should make make noise about the harmful impacts of over production and over consumption in the fast fashion indsutry. By redirecting attention to conscious consumption and the resdistribution of garments that are already within circulation, we can decrease the demand for unsustainable fast fashion and nurture the eco system of the circular fashion cycle.

Q: How do I know if an item will fit?

A: The short answer is we cannot guarantee for certain an item will fit. At UOR Studio we take great care to accurately represent each item through images and detailed descriptions so you can shop with confidence.

Due to the nature of pre-loved and vintage garments, tagged sizes may vary between brands, eras and fits. We seeks to provide exact measurements on each item, alongside our sizing guide, which can be referred to for the most accurate fit reference.

Please take a moment to review our returns policy and all product details before making your purchases.

Q: Where do we source our product?

A: UOR begun its sourcing in Vancouver, Canada and continues to source locally, now based out of Melbourne, Australia. Other various locations may be listed as we seek to source pieces wherever we travel!

Q: Do we purchase in bulk?

A: Right now, No. We stay local to keep our impact low. By sourcing locally we are able to avoid the environmental impacts that can come from moving inventory in bulk from international locations. It also allows us to keep our expenses to the business low, so we can continue to reinvest in curating, repairing, and redistributing unique quality pieces at an affordable price point to our UOR community.

Should the business scale to a point where the demand from our community would be supported by the inflow or more stock, beyond what is available, then, only when our internal sustainability efforts offset the environmental impact of sourcing in bulk from overseas, will we consider this avenue.

For now, our priority is honouring our mission and redistributing local second-hand and preloved clothing, so that each piece can continue its life with you.

Q: How do we support our local community?

A: By sourcing locally we are able to avoid adding additional volume to our already abundant second-hand market in Australia. We are able support the local economy and businesses within our community already pursing efforts to keep fashion circular.

From Op Shops to your personal wardrobes, we are seeking to curate, showcase and redistribute unique, quality pieces already in circulation, to make them acessible to those who will truly love and cherish them.

Q: What condition are the garments in?

A: We strive to extend the lifcycle of garments as far as possible by souring pieces that still have lots of life to give. At UOR Studio we seek to attempt all repairs in house and outsource reapirs for complex damages within reason. If there are any non-repairable damages to any items, they will be refeclted in the description and pricing of each individual item.
